Union Obstetrics & Gynecology is a group practice of physicians and midwives providing care to the women of Union County and the surrounding communities. It was initially started by Dr. Lane Ormand and was known as Monroe Woman's Clinic, later being renamed as the Ormand Center for Women. Our practice has grown to include a larger number of providers offering a wide array of obstetrical and gynecological services.
Union Obstetrics & Gynecology offers both low and high risk obstetrical care; gynecologic care including routine annual exams and PAP screening, but also a range of more specialized services. We provide a full range of gynecologic surgeries including minimally invasive procedures and alternatives to hysterectomy, menopause care and incontinence evaluation and treatment.
Our growth parallels that of our hospital. The former Union Regional Medical Center has received substantial effort and funding to make it a thoroughly updated and fully integrated hospital within the Carolinas HealthCare System.
Now known as Carolinas Medical Center-Union, our hospital allows us to offer state of the art gynecologic surgery services and obstetric care. For those infrequent occasions when even more specialized services are needed, our close relationship with Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte allows us to access specialists in GYN cancer, infertility, and high risk pregnancy.
